A 20-YEAR-OLD driver has admitted driving his new car without insurance and using the window insurance disc from a different vehicle.

Vlad-Tiberiu Puscasu had no insurance for his red Mini Cooper when he drove it through Grouville on 12 May, the Magistrate’s Court heard.

He had attached the disc from his other car, a black Fiat.

Puscasu told the court that he had not been able to pay for insurance for the new car at the time, and said: “I’m really sorry about it. It was a dumb mistake.”

Relief Magistrate David Le Cornu fined Puscasu £2,500 and banned him from driving for two months. He allowed him to pay the fine at the rate of £120 per month.
