VISITORS to eight of Jersey’s beaches are being reminded to clean up after themselves – and provided with the equipment to do so.
“Beach Clean Boards”, which have been made by prisoners, have been set up at the eight coastline locations, each bearing a warning about litter.
They also contain reusable bags and litter-picking arms for picking up rubbish.
The boards were made at La Moye prison and are a joint project between Plastic Free Jersey, Surfers Against Sewage and the government’s Climate Change Engagement team. They can be found at Bel Royal, Bonne Nuit, Gorey, Grève de Lecq, the Gunsite, Havre des Pas, Rozel and St Brelade.
