PASSENGERS on ferry services to and from the Channel Islands have faced disruption as a result of a technical issue with one of the engines on the Condor Liberation.

With the Liberation only able to operate at a reduced speed, services for today and yesterday were reduced to “single-Island calls”, although the operator said it expected services to return to normal tomorrow.

Yesterday’s sailing from Poole to Guernsey and Jersey was amended and only called at St Peter Port, while today the Liberation will serve St Helier only, albeit arriving and departing at the scheduled times of 5.45pm and 6.45pm respectively.

A Condor spokesperson said: “Liberation is running a revised schedule of single-Island calls from Poole due to a technical issue with one of her engines.

“Passengers affected by the changes are being reaccommodated on alternating sailings.

“We expect to be back to full schedule by Wednesday and regret the inconvenience caused.”
