JERSEY’S largest political party is celebrating its ten-year anniversary this month with a series of events and public engagements.
Today marks a decade since Reform Jersey was officially incorporated in the Royal Court as a political party.
The social-democratic party has ten members in the States Assembly, including four in government – Social Security Minister Lyndsay Feltham, Education Minister Rob Ward, Housing Minister Sam Mézec, and Assistant Housing Minister Carina Alves.
Over the next few weeks, members will be speaking to the public to recruit members and share information about the party, as well as holding a public meeting next Saturday with guest speakers.
Party leader Deputy Sam Mézec said: “In the last decade, Reform Jersey has changed the face of Jersey politics.
“By openly working together and organising ourselves with a formal party structure, our States Members have been more effective than independents, and have set the agenda by using the strength of our block vote.”
Since the 2022 election, the party said it had been working to deliver on the commitments made in their “New Deal for Jersey” manifesto, including free GP appointments for children and students, student bus passes, expanding eligibility for the Community Cost Bonus, and more.
Through voting as a block, the party were also central in swaying several key votes earlier this year, first to oust Chief Minister Kristina Moore and then to elect current Chief Minister Lyndon Farnham – after he agreed to work across the Assembly and welcome Reform members into his new Council of Ministers.

Reform Jersey Deputies will be canvassing Islanders on King Street, recruiting members and handing out information.
Saturday 13 July – Best Western Royal Hotel – 5pm to 6.30pm
The party will hold a public meeting for Islanders to hear from their leadership and guest speakers which include environmental activist and previous election candidate Nigel Jones and Unite the Union South West regional chair Stephanie Kasprowski.
