Man in court charged with manslaughter in connection with L'Ecume II trawler collision

A MAN has been charged with three counts of manslaughter in relation to the sinking of the L’Ecume II trawler.

Artur Sevash-Zade appeared in the Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

L’Ecume II sank following a collision with Condor’s Commodore Goodwill freight ship in December 2022.

Mr Sevash-Zade was arrested in the UK and brought back to Jersey to face the three charges.

Skipper Michael Michieli and crew members Jervis Baligat and Larry Simyunn died in the collision.
