JERSEY is to get more primetime exposure this week when comedian Susan Calman stops off in the Island during her Grand Day Out series.

The show, broadcast on Channel 5, features the Scot and her campervan, named Helen, visiting the most beautiful and interesting places in the British Isles.

And this week she will be visiting the Channel Islands for the first time, stopping off in Jersey before catching the ferry to Guernsey.

During the show, which will be broadcast at 9pm on Thursday, Ms Calman gets to meet “the Island’s iconic cows and equally famous potatoes” and explores “the otherworldly La Rocque beach”.

The Island benefitted from further publicity on Channel Five last year during the series Jersey and Guernsey, which featured Islanders and local traditions.

And earlier this year, Jersey was featured in an episode of the BBC’s The Apprentice.
