Boy (12) flown to Southampton Hospital with 'significant' head injury after e-scooter collides with car

A 12-YEAR-OLD boy was flown to Southampton Hospital with a “significant” head injury following a collision between his e-scooter and a car.

The boy is now in a stable condition at hospital after the incident, which took place on Saturday at around 11am on St Aubin’s Inner Road, close to Bay Stores.

The 57-year-old woman driving the black Peugeot 3008 car was not injured and is assisting the States police with their enquiries.

In a statement, the police said: “A 12-year-old boy suffered a significant head injury as a result of this collision. The child, and parents, were flown to Southampton Hospital yesterday [Saturday], however, is now in a stable condition.

“Officers would like to speak with any witnesses, or anyone with dash cam footage of the collision.

“Anyone who may have seen this or who has any information is asked to contact police on 612 612 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their Anonymous Online Form at Crimestoppers-uk.org.”
