A 23-YEAR-OLD chef will compete in a national cooking competition this summer.
Jacob Gosselin, from Longueville Manor, will go up against seven of the UK’s most renowned up-and-coming cooks in London in the semi-final of the Craft Guild of Chefs Young National Chef of the Year competition.
The former Highlands College student has always been passionate about cooking and started training at Longueville Manor aged 16.
Mr Gosselin was named Young Channel Island Chef of the Year in 2017, 2018, and 2023 while at Highlands and reached the finals of the national competition in 2018 and 2020.
Longueville’s executive head chef Andrew Baird said: “Throughout his time with us, Jacob has worked through every section of the kitchen, becoming chef de partie in each before progressing to junior sous chef at 21.”
Malcolm Lewis, Longueville Manor owner, said: “Jacob Gosselin is a chef with immense potential.
