BEAULIEU school has had to close temporarily after the discovery of a leak in its water supply.

In an email to parents yesterday evening, Deputy Head Paul Curran said the issue required “immediate attention”, and was told by Jersey Water that it needed to cut off the school’s water supply.

“This means that the school will have to close tomorrow [Tuesday] while these repairs are carried out.”

He added that contractors had been on site since 5.30pm and that it was initially expected to be repaired yesterday evening, but that the school later found out this wouldn’t be possible.

Students attending exams, which were still going ahead, were advised to bring their own water bottles “as they will not be able to be filled on site”.

Mr Curran added that the school expected to be open again on Wednesday morning.
