PROBLEMS with the power supply led to the sudden closure of Les Quennevais Sports Centre at around 12pm today,[mon] with a possibility that the issue may stretch into tomorrow.
In a social media post issued at 12.40pm, the facility in St Brelade said it had been necessary to close with immediate effect.
One user stated that users had been asked to leave, without any reason being given at the time.
The statement, issued soon after the closure, clarified that it was a power supply issue, adding:
“The issue only affects the main building – activity in the surrounding club buildings or the playing fields can continue as normal.
“We are currently investigating the issue and will provide a further update by midday tomorrow. Apologies for any inconvenience.”
