AN 84-YEAR-OLD woman has died after the car she was a passenger in fell over a 20ft wall at Corbière landing on its roof.
All three emergency services attended the scene on Sunday evening, following reports of a vehicle having fallen from the cliff edge at the Corbiere public car park.
In a statement, Jersey Fire and Rescue said crews found the vehicle – a black Suzuki Swift – overturned, having fallen over the edge of a 20ft wall and landing on its roof.
The driver, who was trapped inside, and an elderly female passenger who was already receiving care from States of Jersey Police officers, were taken to hospital for treatment.
In an update this morning, the force said that an 84-year-old woman has died as a result of the incident.
The statement said the second woman remains in a stable condition.
“The family of the deceased are being supported by specially trained officers. An investigation into the cause of the incident is ongoing in conjunction with the Coroner,” it continued.
