A MAN accused of attempting to murder a supermarket worker in St Helier has had his case adjourned to allow further time for a mental-health assessment to take place.

Trevor Robert Green (55) is accused of repeatedly stabbing a woman in the Castle Quay branch of Morrisons on 18 November last year.

He faces charges of attempted murder and grave and criminal assault and appeared in the Royal Court yesterday via video link.

Advocate Julia-Anne Dix said a mental-health assessment had not yet been carried out for her client owing to a shortage of places in a suitable facility in England, but that it was hoped this would be possible before 9 May.

A further hearing has been scheduled for 10 May.
