CORONATION Park will be closed until Sunday to allow for repairs following significant damage caused by Storm Ciarán.
Work starting today includes removing root plates, filling the deep holes left behind with good ground soil and preparing the park for tree planting season in October.
The team on-site will be using heavy machinery, with members of the public advised to avoid the area.
Following November’s storm, Parks and Gardens senior operations manager Bruce Labey said that Coronation Park was “the worst-affected” of the Island’s parks.
