JERSEY Pearl has announced a £200,000 relaunch of its St Ouen café.

The jewellers, which is celebrating its 40th birthday next year, said the venue at the top of the Five Mile Road would be given a new look this spring.

The plans include a larger service area, modern seating space and seasonal dishes that use local produce.

Director Julia Williams runs Jersey Pearl as a family business, with brother Mike as managing director and her daughter Annabelle (16), working in the café at weekends.

She is the third generation to look after the business, which was founded in 1985 by her grandfather Fred Scragg, uncle Michael Scragg and father, John Taylor.

She said: “2024 is an exciting year for us as we head towards our 40th birthday – and we’ve got lots of reasons to celebrate starting off with a new café at our St Ouen flagship.”

The store and café is open from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
