CONDOR Ferries chief executive John Napton has stepped down after two-and-a-half years with the firm.
He has been replaced on an interim basis by Christophe Mathieu, chief executive of Brittany Ferries, which is part of the consortium which owns Condor.
Mr Mathieu, who is a long-term board member of Condor, will take over leading negotiations for a new joint operating agreement between the firm and the governments of Jersey and Guernsey.
Russel Kew, Condor Ferries’ executive chairman, said: “We would like to thank John for his leadership over his time with the company, during which he oversaw the continuation of services during the pandemic and the introduction of our latest vessel, Condor Islander, last year. We all wish him well for the future.
“Christophe possesses exceptional experience in ferry operations as CEO of Brittany Ferries and will provide strong leadership for Condor.
“He also knows our people, customers and the islands well so it is very much business as usual.”
