JERSEY’S rate of inflation has dropped to 7.5%.
The latest figure – for December last year – represents a 2.6% decrease from the figure three months earlier.
And it is 5.2% drop from the annual rate of inflation of 12.7% measured in December 2022.

According to figures from Statistics Jersey released on Friday morning, housing costs surged by 16.7% last year, with the cost of leisure services rising by 10.6% and catering by 9.6%.
Food costs increased by 5.9%.

Inflation in the UK currently stands at 4%, following an unexpected rise in December.
Households in Jersey are set to face further increases in bills, with electricity and water costs going up this month, and gas prices rising at the end of January.
