STRONG winds and rough seas whipped up by Storm Isha have caused disruption to ferry and air services in and out of Jersey.
According to Condor Ferries, the weather conditions have altered the schedule of the Commodore Clipper’s sailing between Portsmouth and the Channel Islands.
And flights from Jersey to London Heathrow which were due to leave at 7:05am and 4:25pm have been cancelled, while a Blue Islands flight to the East Midlands, due to leave at 9:50am, was also cancelled.
An orange wind warning is in force today, issued at 8:45am this morning by Jersey Met.
Islanders can expect strong force-seven westerly winds with gusts of up to 45mph.
However, Jersey has escaped the worst of the storm as the UK was battered with 99mph gusts, resulting in widespread road, rail and air travel disruption. Thousands remain without power.
Condor has announced that it is likely there will be disruption to the conventional service operated by Condor Islander between Portsmouth and the Channel Islands.
Affected bookings have been automatically transferred to alternative services and passengers will be notified with these new details, Condor has said.
The ferry provider has said it is monitoring the situation closely and will notify passengers if there are any changes to schedules.
