ANOTHER seal pup has been rescued in Jersey and sent to Guernsey’s animal shelter for rehabilitation.

A team from British Divers Marine Life Rescue recovered the pup – which has since been named Didier – after he was found struggling on the beach at Anne Port by dogwalker Rebecca Ransom.

The dehydrated and hypothermic pup was also underweight at 14kg, which falls significantly below the expected weight range of 25 to 30kg for a five-to-six-week-old pup his age.

Didier is now receiving care from the GSPCA, along with three other Jersey seal pups at the Shelter called Maya, Faulkner and Jem.

Faulkner and Jem, rescued in November, are due to be released into the wild this month if all goes well. Maya, another seal found earlier this month, is doing well, according to the shelter.
