Heavy showers could turn wintry in midweek

WINTRY showers – which could be heavy – and temperatures no higher than 6°C are features of the weather forecast for the next four days.

The latest Jersey Met forecast, issued this morning, confirmed that the cold conditions which Islanders have experienced over the past ten days are due to continue.

After a largely dry day today, with the temperature peaking at 6°C, the mercury is forecast to drop below freezing tonight and reach a high of 4°C tomorrow.

Cloudy conditions, with outbreaks of rain or sleet – which are likely to be heavy and could turn to snow – are forecast for tomorrow evening and throughout Wednesday, accompanied by winds from the north-east of up to force six.

Jersey Met predicts drier and less windy conditions for Thursday, with a maximum temperature of 6°C.
