REFORM Jersey are yet to confirm how their ten States Members will vote in next week’s no-confidence debate.

The party’s deputy leader revealed that politicians met with former Infrastructure Minister Tom Binet, the would-be challenger for the position of Chief Minister, on Thursday.

This was after their meeting with Chief Minister Kristina Moore on Tuesday morning to “seek assurances” about how she will work with them “to change the direction of travel of the current government”, according to their letter sent after Deputy Binet lodged a motion of no confidence.

Ministers have since rallied around Deputy Moore and her team.

However, with ten Members representing Reform in the Assembly, the political party holds significant voting power among the 49 politicians who sit in the Chamber.

The party’s deputy leader, Lyndsay Feltham, told the JEP on Friday 12 January that they were not planning on making any announcement ahead of the vote on Tuesday.

She confirmed that the party had met with Deputy Binet saying: “We are in ongoing discussions, listening to what everyone has to say.”

The vote of no confidence debate is due to take place on Tuesday.
