Jersey police release CCTV after 'attempted break in' with hammer at beach café

THE States police have released CCTV stills as part of efforts to identify a person following an alleged attempt to break in at a café in St Aubin’s Bay in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The alleged attempt took place at the Lookout Café on the Avenue and caused “minor damage” to the building.

Between 2.44am and 3.15am, a person – believed to be male – was seen on CCTV attempting to break into the café with a hammer.

Police said that they were dressed in a dark-coloured hoodie and trousers, with a slightly different colour on front sections of the trousers.

The images appear to show light coloured clothing as the cameras display the opposite colours when filming at night, police explained.

The person was also wearing a backpack and Adidas trainers.
