ALL of Jersey’s parks are once again open following damage caused by Storm Ciarán last November.

However, Islanders are still advised to keep out of closed woodland areas so that work involving the use of heavy machinery can be undertaken swiftly and safely.

The government has today confirmed the re-opening of all parks but warned that some recreational areas still had stumps and roots of fallen trees which have not been removed due to the current weather conditions.

The entire Railway Walk from St Aubin to Corbiere is also clear of fallen trees and open to Islanders wishing to use the track.

Work is ongoing to clear the remaining damaged and leaning trees over the next few weeks.

The government said that this would help safeguard against future storms, and Islanders are being advised to exercise caution around the areas of the track where such works are ongoing.

Several more months are also needed to clear the park and woodland surrounding the walk.
