Ex-honorary charged with child sex offences

The Magistrate's Court.

A FORMER St Clement honorary police officer has been accused of sexual offences against children.

Jamie John Le Sech (35) appeared in the Magistrate’s Court, dressed in a grey hooded top and blue jeans, where he was charged with four separate offences of sexual touching against two young people under the age of 16.

He was accused of massaging the children’s legs, backs and buttocks on several different occasions, either using his hands or a massaging device.

Mr Le Sech was sworn in as a Constable’s Officer in St Clement for a third term in 2018. The case was judged too serious for the Magistrate’s Court to deal with and Mr Le Sech was ordered to appear before the Royal Court for indictment on 8 March.

Advocate Howard Tobias, prosecuting, argued that Mr Le Sech should be remanded in custody.

However, Advocate Paul Nicholls, defending, said he was entitled to be released on bail until his indictment.

Assistant Magistrate Adam Clarke agreed to grant Mr Le Sech bail on condition that he does not contact the alleged victims or their families or leave the Island.

He was ordered to surrender his passport and other photographic ID.
