A FLOOD warning has been issued ahead of heavy rainfall forecast for Thursday.

Islanders who live in flood-prone areas have been advised to “prepare in case of potential flooding”, according to a government statement.

Jersey Met has forecast more unsettled, wet and windy weather tomorrow, with a period of potentially prolonged and heavy rainfall from early morning to early afternoon.

However, forecasters have said that the amount of rainfall and where it will fall is “difficult to predict” and depends on the path of a small low-pressure system which will move across the Channel Islands.

Colleagues across the government and partner agencies are monitoring the situation and liaising with Jersey Met.

Islanders have been asked to be aware of the weather forecast and any further advice issued.

Information on how to prepare is available on the government website here.
