Officers attended the scene at 11:31am after the truck’s driver called the emergency line.
Duty Officer Inspector Callum O’Connor explained that the road was closed for about ten minutes while police assisted the driver in reversing backwards.
The truck then took the slip road instead.
The road has been reopened.
