COME rain or shine, the Christmas lights switch-on in town is set to go ahead on Thursday, organisers have confirmed.

Santa and his elves will brave blustery conditions, with winds of around Force 6 forecast, as they arrive in St Helier.

They will be parading through town from 6.30pm, starting at Millennium Park.

Islanders are invited to wait for Santa at the Christmas Village on the Weighbridge, where the parade is set to arrive around 7.30pm, with a big finale planned for 8pm.
