MEMBERS of the Royal British Legion and veterans gathered this morning on Armistice Day, laying wreaths and paying their respects to those fallen at war with two minutes’ silence.
They were joined by officials and members of the public in a moment of silent reflection.
The day also marks the 100th anniversary of Jersey cenotaph, which was originally raised five years after the end of the First World War. It now commemorates those fallen during both World Wars.
The day was dry, though Remembrance Sunday services tomorrow are expected to be of a reduced scale due to possible bad weather, with marching contingents limited to the Jersey Field Squadron and Jersey Veterans.
