Thunderstorm and wind warnings issued for Jersey – with gales possible and gusts up to 50mph

THUNDERSTORM and wind warnings have been issued for Jersey.

Bands of heavy showers are forecast to sweep across the Island for much of Thursday.

Jersey Met’s yellow-level thunderstorm warning states that “isolated thunderstorms are expected to be very near or over the Island” during the day.

Winds could also reach gale-force-eight overnight, with gusts of 50mph, increasing to 55mph on Friday morning. An orange-level wind warning has been issued by Jersey Met.
