A PROFESSIONAL dog walker has been fined £500 after a husky in his care attacked a sheep in a St Ouen field.

Larron Le Guilcher was walking three dogs off their leads on 13 July at Le Don Somers-Clarke when the attack occurred.

The sheep suffered several puncture wounds but eventually made a full recovery.

Appearing in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, Le Guilcher (26) admitted allowing a dog to be out of control and said: “I now keep the dogs on leads all the time. We don’t walk them near livestock any more.”

Assistant Magistrate Adam Clarke said it was “an unfortunate event” but accepted that Le Guilcher co-operated with the police and that the sheep had recovered.
