BUSES are being diverted and drivers reminded to be careful, as the weather has brought down a tree on a busy town road.

St Helier Centenier Abigail Le Chevalier said the tree had come down on Don Road, near the Royal Crescent, on Saturday around noon and work was underway to remove it.

An orange wind warning is in place, with winds that could reach up to force 7.

Centenier Le Chevalier added: “I’d warn people to take it a little bit more easily in these conditions until the storm passes. Hopefully that will be tomorrow.”

LibertyBus warned passengers that inbound routes 2, 3, 13, 16, 21 and 23 were all being diverted.

Routes 2 and 16 are going via Route du Fort. Route 3 is going via Route du Fort and St Clement’s Road to Howard Davis Park. Routes 13, 21 and 23 are going down Stopford Road, Victoria Street and back down Val Plaisant and New Street.
