A LAND ROVER crashed into another car while the driver was more than twice the drink-drive limit.
The Magistrate’s Court heard that Kane Ulrich Le Gros (26) was well over the maximum allowed when he hit another vehicle on Grasett Park estate in St Saviour on the afternoon of 15 September.
After his arrest, he was found to have 82 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
Advocate Frances Littler, defending, said Le Gros drove only a short distance, and asked Assistant Magistrate Adam Clarke not to send him to prison.
She said: “He has a young daughter and that would have a very significant impact on his family.”
The Assistant Magistrate agreed to impose a 100-hour community service order instead.
He also banned him for driving for 24 months, with the order to retake his test before driving again.
He told Le Gros: “I hope this is the last time we see you.”
