MORE than 15,000 books will be available to buy in the biggest sale of its kind this weekend.

The military, art, gardening, cookery and the Channel Islands are among the categories most represented in stock that will go on sale when the Jersey branch of Guide Dogs for the Blind holds its main event on Saturday and Sunday, between 9am and 4pm.

The sale is once again being held at the headquarters of potato exporter Albert Bartlett on Trinity Hill.

Branch chairman Ken Syvret said: ‘It will be good to see the books disappear into the welcoming hands of the many supporters who look forward with anticipation to the annual sale.

‘The Albert Bartlett building has proved to be a popular venue with easy access and plenty of parking, and we’re grateful to Albert Bartlett for its continuing support.’

Mr Syvret said that there would be a wide range of books on offer, with prices starting from 25p.
