VOTING for the JEP Pride of Jersey Awards is now open.
Following an overwhelming response to our call for nominations – which saw a record 242 names put forward – it is now time to show support for your community heroes and make your vote count.
To help remind you of the nominees, we have today published a supplement featuring all the names and faces of those vying to be crowned a Pride of Jersey winner.
To vote, simply visit prideofjersey.com or fill in a voting slip which will be published in the JEP each day until the polls close at midnight on Monday 11 September.

Winners will be selected from the three finalists who receive the most votes in each category, judged by a previous winner, a member of JEP staff and a representative from the award sponsor.
All the shortlisted nominees will be invited to a glittering awards ceremony at Le Manoir de Rooster on Trinity Hill – the home of potato exporter Albert Bartlett – on the evening of Wednesday 11 October.
Urging Islanders to vote, JEP editor Andy Sibcy said: ‘To say we are amazed with the number of nominees is a huge understatement. This year’s total easily beat last year’s, which itself was a record, and this just goes to show what a fantastic community spirit we have in Jersey and how there are so many people who will go that extra mile for their friends, family or community.
‘I would now encourage you to show your support for the nominees and do your bit to get them into the shortlisted top three.
‘I look forward to meeting all the finalists at what promises to be a wonderful – and undoubtedly emotional – ceremony this autumn.’
In addition to the regular 14 categories, for the second year in a row a very special individual will receive the Gary Burgess Award. The award, which will be chosen by the late broadcaster and journalist’s friends and media colleagues, will recognise an exceptional Islander who has acted as a ‘guiding light for the community’.
Hannah Gleave, chief people and sustainability officer at Ports of Jersey, which has sponsored the award, said: ‘At Ports of Jersey, we feel privileged to serve our community and are committed to making a positive difference to Island life.
‘We have sponsored the Gary Burgess award this year, not just because we see the awards as an integral part of that commitment, but also because we want to honour an Islander who is making a real difference to our community, someone who – just like Gary – epitomises the spirit and heart of Jersey.’
All the winners will receive an award on the night along with a prize worth £1,000 from the category sponsor.
The nominees’ supplement starts on page 33 of today’s paper.
