ISLANDERS needing to travel to a new healthcare facility in St Brelade by public transport will be able to take a bus to the front door from the start of next week.
From Monday, the 12A bus will stop directly outside the Enid Quénault Health and Wellbeing Centre in the former Les Quennevais School building.
A series of services previously provided at Overdale in St Helier have now transferred to the new facility, including physiotherapy, retinal screening, child development and assisted reproduction.
Kevin Hart, regional director for LibertyBus, said 12A buses travelling between St Helier and Corbière would serve the site hourly via Route Orange and Clos des Sables.
He said: ‘We’ve been working with the government towards ensuring that Islanders can readily access the new facility and are pleased to have this amended service in place.’
Named after former Constable of St Brelade Enid Quénault, the centre can also be reached by services on route 15, which stops at Red House (550 metres away) and route 22, via the stop at Clos des Sables (300 metres).
Further details about the new facility are available at gov.je/EQHWC.
