A WILDLIFE photographer has described how the sea ‘lifted up’ as his boat was surrounded by hundreds of tuna at the weekend.
John Ovenden was photographing birds off the south coast of Jersey when the huge shoal of bluefins began hunting around him.
‘All of a sudden I heard this noise – it was so loud,’ he said.
‘I turned around and it was like the sea had lifted up – the sea was on two different levels because the tuna had pushed it up by about a foot and a half.’
