EVENTS have been planned next week to mark Ukraine’s Independence Day in the Island.

The country’s national day takes place on Thursday 24 August, which will mark the anniversary of Ukraine’s declaration of independence from the Soviet Union 32 years ago, as the war with Russia rages on.
