THE two people killed in a suspected hit-and-run in Grouville on Saturday night were a father and son, the States police have confirmed.

They were aged 48 and 11.

The pair were walking along Rue de Fauvic in the direction of St Clement’s Church when they were struck by a vehicle, which the States police said left the scene without stopping.

They were taken to Accident and Emergency where the police said ‘great efforts were made to save them’, but they both died from their injuries late on Saturday night.

A 28-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop and report an accident remains in police custody.
