JERSEY Met has issued a warning for potential flooding during this evening’s high tide when waves are anticipated to break over sea walls and cause disruption on some roads.

The orange warning – the second-highest level of alert – advises Islanders to exercise caution, with the majority of water and debris expected to come over the walls within one hour either side of high tide.

‘Wind and high tides will lead to waves breaking over sea walls which may cause disruption, with water and debris on roads along Jersey’s south coast on this evening [Wednesday’s] high tide. Some flooding may occur,’ the notice stated.

High tide is around 8pm.
