A YACHT was towed to safety by the Jersey Lifeboat Association this morning after the 30ft vessel got into difficulty in Catherine’s Bay.

The charity was tasked by Jersey Coastguard to assist the yacht at around 10.30am after its crew reported a leaking propeller shaft and that they were in need of assistance.

JLA crew members went onboard the vessel with a salvage pump, before it was towed to St Helier and lifted out the water by South Pier Marine.

‘All passengers [are] safe and well, thank you to all crew for attendance,’ the JLA said in a post on their Facebook page.
