EASYJET has announced the launch of new flights between Jersey and Birmingham, starting next year.
The new service will run three times a week and operate on Sundays, Mondays and Wednesday, beginning on 1 April.
Ports of Jersey chief executive officer Matt Thomas said: ‘This new route is a further boost to Jersey’s tourism sector and welcome confirmation of easyJet’s intention to continue developing traffic and tourism to Jersey.’
He added: ‘We are pleased that our five-year agreement, which sees easyJet basing an aircraft in Jersey overnight, is bearing fruit for Islanders and for people wishing to visit our Island.’
The new route joins existing services from Jersey to London Gatwick, London Luton, Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow – in addition to summer routes to Edinburgh, Belfast and the recently launched Amsterdam route.
Bookings for the new route will be available ‘in the near future’, according to Ports of Jersey.
