VISIT Jersey has seen a ‘boost’ in traffic to its website, after the first two episodes of a new documentary series highlighting the Channel Islands recently aired.
A spokesperson from Visit Jersey also said that the show was predominantly driving new audiences to their site – Jersey.com – with 79% of visitors following the first episode being first-time users.
This comes after 1.1 million viewers tuned in to watch the first episode of Jersey & Guernsey, a UK-produced show narrated by Alan Titchmarsh, and which promises to ‘delve into the lives of some of the islands’ most colourful residents’ as they prepare for the ‘busy summer ahead’.
Visit Jersey said the programme’s debut had caused a ‘boost in website traffic’. The second episode, which saw local foraging fanatic Kazz scour Jersey’s west coast, aired last week.
The programmes have also featured appearances from makers of La Robeline Cider Richard and Sarah Matlock, ceramicist Claire Haithwaite, the Jersey Tea Company and the Sprouts Farm Club team.
There are four more episodes yet to screen, with the next on Wednesday at 8pm. Tricia Warwick, Visit Jersey chief executive, previously said her organisation was ‘delighted’ to work with Channel 5 and Daisybeck Studios ‘to bring this fantastic new series about the Channel Islands to a national audience’. Working with television, she added, is an ‘impactful way to reach new audiences and showcase the breadth of Jersey’s offering’.
