TICKETS for Jersey’s first drive-in cinema were due to be released today, with 60 films being shown over 15 days this summer.
‘The Jersey Drive In’, sponsored by Motormall and Jacksons, will be hosted at Home Farm Equestrian Centre in St Mary in August.
Films include Grease, Back to the Future, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and the original Top Gun – all of which will be projected on a 46 metre-squared LED wall.
There will also be themed nights, competitions and fancy-dress events.
The organisers have also announced 30 daytime showings of family-friendly movies to entertain children during the summer holidays, with films such as Frozen, Despicable Me, and How to Train Your Dragon.
Organisers said: ‘Ticket prices will vary on the chosen position within the viewing area and times of the shows, with daytime family films being the cheapest option.
‘Tickets for a car will range from £29 per car to £49 for the blockbuster evening showings.’
A previous attempt to establish a drive-in cinema at the Royal Jersey Showground in June 2020 to give Islanders the opportunity to ‘unwind in a safe environment’ did not make it past the licensing stages.
