AN 84-year-old motorist has died after suffering a suspected ‘medical episode’ at the wheel on Beaumont Hill, the States police have confirmed.
The emergency services were called out on Saturday morning following reports of a single-vehicle accident on the road in St Peter.
The road was closed for more than an hour.
In a statement, the States police said: ‘Following on from the emergency services attending a single-vehicle road traffic collision this morning on Beaumont Hill, sadly the driver of the vehicle has subsequently died.
‘It would appear that the driver, an 84-year-old male, has suffered a medical episode at the wheel.
‘Police are investigating the incident and a report will be submitted to the Deputy Viscount.’
