Police appeal for information on St Martin collision

THE States police are appealing for information on a collision between a white Jersey Post van and a pedestrian, which happened in St Martin on Thursday afternoon.

The pedestrian, described as ‘a male teenage pedestrian wearing sports clothing’, was taken to hospital with ‘significant injuries’ and later transferred to Southampton.

His condition is described as stable but critical.

The incident happened at 4.30pm on Thursday on the junction between Rue du Hucquet and Rue de la Vignette in the parish of St Martin.

Islanders who have dashcam or CCTV footage of the pedestrian or the van in the surrounding areas, or who witnessed the collision, are asked to contact the States police on 612612.
