‘PHYSICAL searches’ for missing Islander Thomas Frost have concluded, the States police have confirmed, although the investigation into the disappearance of the 51-year-old two months ago is continuing.
Acting Superintendent Craig Jackson has given an update regarding the operation to find Mr Frost, who was last seen when leaving his parents’ house in St Ouen on the evening of Sunday 12 February.
Acting Supt Jackson said: ‘States of Jersey Police and all of the agencies involved in the search are saddened that, despite our best efforts, we have been unable to locate Thomas and bring him home to his family.
‘We have worked with our search counterparts from Guernsey, Avon and Somerset Police, Jersey Search and Rescue and many other agencies using specialist dive teams and dog units.
‘All proportionate and feasible physical search opportunities have been examined to the best of our ability, including numerous areas of dense vegetation.’
Mr Frost’s family had been consulted regularly during the investigation, with specialist officers providing support and explaining the decisions made regarding the search, Acting Supt Jackson said.
He added: ‘I’d like to reiterate that the investigation remains ongoing and ask members of the public to remain observant when out and about and report anything that may be helpful to the enquiry.’
Mr Frost is described as 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build with greying hair. Police believe that when he left his parents’ house near L’Etacq he may have been barefoot, wearing a crimson t-shirt underneath a navy shirt with white buttons and navy jeans, possibly with a light grey hoodie on top.
