A 31-YEAR-OLD who took illicit pictures for his sexual gratification in nine places in and around town has been warned he could be recommended for deportation.

Speaking through a Portuguese interpreter, Marco Paulo Freitas Do Nascimento admitted the charges of recording images for sexual gratification without the consent of the people photographed.

He took the images on a mobile phone between 16 June and 30 August last year in the Central Market, Green Street, Howard Davis Park, Liberation Station, Minden Place, the Radisson Blu Hotel, Sand Street, Snow Hill and West Park.

He also admitted attempting to make another illicit image in Minden Place on 7 September.

Assistant Magistrate Peter Harris released Do Nascimento on bail on condition that he does not leave or attempt to leave the Island.

He adjourned sentencing until 11 April to allow time for a background report to be prepared and added: β€˜The question of whether there should be a recommendation for deportation may arise.’
