Police appeal issued after man 'abused woman' at traffic lights in St Helier

A POLICE appeal has been issued after a pedestrian allegedly shouted abuse at a motorist as she was stopped at traffic lights.

The man was walking on the opposite side of the road to the woman’s car at the junction of David Place and Val Plaisant when he stopped and shouted at her, the force say.

The man, who the police say is known to the woman, is described as white, aged in his 30s, and was wearing a grey jacket and dark trousers.

He also had a rucksack on his back.

Anyone with information about the incident, which happened at 8.40am on Tuesday, is being asked to phone the States police on 612612 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
