HUNDREDS of Islanders were left baffled – and fearing a visit from a galaxy far, far away – after strange lights appeared in the sky over Jersey on Monday evening.
Many people took to Facebook after spotting what appeared to be glowing objects moving overhead.
The lights were seen across the Island, from the west coast to St Clement.
‘This is weird. A UFO,’ wrote one Islander.
‘Hopefully aliens come to take the States Members away,’ added another.
But while some were pondering an alien invasion, many others had worked out that the lights were coming from far closer to home.
Confirming the source, Jersey Air Traffic Control said: ‘Despite the messages about UFOs over the airport this evening – we can confirm that Les Quennevais School has some lights for this week’s nightly production of “High School Musical”.’
