A NUMBER of trees at the Val de la Mare arboretum were brought down during the recent stormy weather.
Islanders are being asked to avoid walking in the woodland, which contains rare and unusual trees and plants from across the world.

In a Facebook post, Jersey Trees for Life said: ‘Devastated to see the destruction wreaked by the storms at the arboretum this weekend – especially the Australasian Collection, where trees growing since 1975 have been upended overnight.
‘Fortunately there are survivors though!
‘We’re assessing the damage now and figuring out a plan.
‘Meanwhile we recommend walkers avoid the area until we’ve cleared paths and assessed the overall safety.’
Dozens of trees were brought down in the early hours of Monday after the Island was battered by winds gusting up to 72mph.
Les Quennevais Sports Centre was also closed after part of the roof was damaged.
An inspection is due to be carried out on Tuesday to assess when the centre can reopen.
