THE recent spell of wet and windy weather may make those hot, summer days on the beach seem a long way off.

But Visit Jersey is hoping that the prospect of sand, sea and good food will boost the Island’s tourist trade this year.

The organisation’s latest wave of promotional activity, which began on Boxing Day and will run until April, will feature in UK national newspapers, on TV channels – including ITV and Channel 4 – and on the London Underground.

Coastal dining opportunities are a key feature of the campaign, including pizza served on stand-up paddleboards at Portelet Bay, a low-tide picnic at the Minquiers and fish-and-chips at Havre des Pas Lido.

One of the ads shows visitors enjoying a historical enactment at Elizabeth Castle, while another highlights the chance to rent Seymour Tower and enjoy ‘the most southerly stay in the British Isles’.

The campaign reprises the ‘Curiously Brit(ish)’ slogan first used in 2022, described by Visit Jersey as a means of encouraging potential visitors to think differently about the Island.

A spokesperson said: ‘The campaign is designed to provoke curiosity about Jersey’s exotic side by serving up a refreshingly different twist on the familiar British holiday.

‘It highlights our connectivity and proximity to the UK, but surprises and delights our audience with fresh experiences and European influences to provide compelling reasons to visit.’ The campaign, which is backed by a total investment of £650,000, also includes advertising on digital platforms and billboards, as well as partnerships with tour operators.
